Residence visa to reunite a family with a legal
resident in Spain
NO APPOINTMENT IS NEEDED WHEN REQUESTING THIS TYPE OF VISA
The Consulate General in Miami has jurisdiction over the following States: Florida,
Georgia and South Carolina. If your permanent residence is in one of these States you must
apply at this Consulate. If your permanent residence is in another state contact the

Must apply within 60 days of notification from Government in Spain.
This visa can be applied for by the spouse, children under 18 years of age, and parents
who are economically dependent of a foreigner legally residing in Spain for more than one
year.
To apply for this visa, four application forms and the following requirements must be
submitted in person:
ORIGINAL AND TWO PHOTOCOPIES OF EACH DOCUMENT:
- Two Schengen application forms type-written and signed by the applicant.
- Driver´s License or State I.D. with permanent address in United States.
- Passport
of each of the applicants, valid for more than one year (with two
photocopies of the information, photo page and page of last renovation).
- Notarized copy of passport of
foreigner permanently residing in Spain,
along with
the Spanish residence card.
- Residency card
if the applicant is not a US citizen.
- 2 recent pictures
per person, passport size, glued to each application
form.
- If the applicant is the spouse, child under 18 years of age, or parent of a foreigner
permanently residing in Spain, the applicant must submit a copy of the
petition by
the legal resident in Spain with the Government authority, duly stamped and
registered.
- Original marriage certificate
.(If it is not from Spain, it should be legalized by
the Spanish Embassy or with the Apostille certification with the Department
of State).
- For the children, original birth certificate.(If it is not from Spain, it should
be legalized by the Spanish Embassy or with the Apostille Certification with
the Department of State).
- For parents, birth certificate of foreigner permanently residing in Spain, in
which the full name of the applicant appears, legalized by the Embassy of
Spain or Apostille Certification.
- If the applicant is the spouse, a child under 18 years of age, or a parent of a foreigner
you must submit an official certificate of residence in Spain called "certificado
de empadronamiento".
- Original certificate of good conduct
issued by the police department of the city or
cities where the applicant has resided for a period of six months or more in the last five
years notarized, translated, and legalized with the Apostille Certification
with the Department of State.
- Original medical certificate issued by a doctor, and typed on doctor's stationery,
verifying that the applicant is free from the following
quarantine diseases: yellow
fever, cholera, and the plague. The aforementioned document must also certify that
the applicant is free of drug addictions and mental illness translated into
Spanish.
- Final judgment of dissolution of marriage and the custody agreement
concerning the children of divorced parents, translated into Spanish and
legalized with the Apostille Certification issued by the corresponding
Department of State.
- Be advised that special conditions for certain cases may apply.

Once this visa is approved you will be required to appear in person again at this
Consulate General in order to pick up your visa.
