Residence visa to retire in Spain

NO APPLICATION WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT PRIOR APPOINTMENT!!!
The Consulate General in Miami has jurisdiction over the following States: Florida,
Georgia and South Carolina. If your permanent residence is in one of these States you must
apply at this Consulate. If your permanent residence is in another State contact the
Consulate that has jurisdiction over your State
This visa allows a foreigner to reside in Spain as a retiree without working.
To apply for this visa four application forms and the following requirements must be submitted
in person:
- Two Schengen visa application forms typewritten and signed by applicant.
- Driver´s License or state I.D. with current legal permanent address.
ORIGINALS AND TWO PHOTOCOPIES OF:
- Passport
valid for more than one year validity.
- Two recent pictures
, passport size, glued to application.
- Original certificate of good conduct
issued by the police department of the city or
cities where the applicant has spent 6 months or more in the last 5 years,
notarized, translated, duly stamped, and legalized with
the Apostille Certification issued by the corresponding Department of State.
- Original medical certificate of good health
and absence of contagious diseases, drug
addiction and mental illness issued and signed by a registered doctor.
- Original certificate of a public or private institution certifying that you receive a
pension, specifying its monthly amount.
- Proof of any other source of income and/or properties in Spain
(bank statements, credit and investments)
- Residence Card, if you are a resident of the USA
- Poof of accomodation in Spain (address).
- The person who applies must proof a full cover health insurance for himself and
for members of his family in Spain.
The resolution of your application might take up to 3 months. Be advised that
special conditions for certain cases may apply.

FOR FAMILY MEMBERS:
SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS (ORIGINALS AND TWO PHOTOCOPIES)
- Passport with validity superior of one year.
- Residence card, if not a US citizen, and Driver´s License
or State ID.
- Two Schengen visa application forms type-written and
signed.
- Two pictures glued to the forms.
- Proof of health insurance that will cover the family in
Spain.
- Certificate of good conduct (Police Clearance Letter) for
applicants older than 18, translated into Spanish notarized, and legalized
with the Apostille Ceritification issued by the corresponding Department of
State.
- Medical certificate of good mental and physical health,
duly stamped and signed by medical doctor, translated into Spanish.
- Marriage certificated legalized with the Apostille
certification at corresponding Department of State.
- Proof of employment of spouse/parent in Spain and copy of
his/her passport.
- Final judgement of dissolution of marriage and the
custody agreement concerning the children of divorced parents translated
into Spanish and legalized with the Apostille Certification issued by the
corresponding Department of State.

PREPARE THREE SETS: ONE WITH THE ORIGINALS AND TWO WITH
PHOTOCOPIES OF ALL THE DOCUMENTS.
