Tourist and Business Visas

 NO APPLICATION WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT PRIOR APPOINTMENT!!!

ALL DOCUMENTS REQUESTED MUST BE SUBMITTED AT THE SAME TIME


The Consulate General in Miami has jurisdiction over the following States: Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.

If your permanent residence is in one of these States you must apply at this Consulate. If your permanent residence is in another State contact the Consulate that has jurisdiction over your State. (See web site http://www.spainemb.org.

The issuance of a Schengen Visa must occur in the Consulate of the country which is considered your main destination, as determined by the purpose of your trip and the length of stay.

Holders of B-1/B-2 visas must apply for visa in their country of permanent residence or country of origin

Citizens of the following countries, with an ordinary valid passport, traveling on tourist or business purposes for up to 90 days in a period of 6 months DO NOT NEED A VISA:

ANDORRA,  ANTUGUA AND BARBUDA, ARGENTINA, BAHAMAS, BARBADOS, BRAZIL, BRUNEI, BULGARIA, CANADA, SOUTH KOREA, COSTA RICA, CHILE, CYPRUS, EL SALVADOR, GUATEMALA, HONDURAS, ICELAND, ISRAEL, JAPAN, LIECHTENSTEIN, MALAYSIA,  MAURICE, MEXICO, MONACO, NICARAGUA, NEW ZEALAND, PANAMA, PARAGUAY, ROMANIA, SAN MARINO, ST. KITTS AND NEVIS, SEYCHELLES, SINGAPORE, SWITZERLAND, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, URUGUAY, VENEZUELA, HONG KONG(SAR), MACAO(EAR) and citizens of THE EUROPEAN UNION.

SUBMIT VISA APLICATION NO MORE THAN 90 DAYS BEFORE TRAVEL DATE.

Citizens of countries not listed above must apply for a visa to enter Spain.

 

To apply for a tourist or business visa, please submit the originals plus one photocopy of the following documents:

  1. An ordinary passport or travel document recognized by the Schengen States that is valid for a period of three months beyond the expected lenght of stay in the Schengen area, and the period of validity of the visa.
  2. Two completed Schengen visa applications signed by the applicant or his/her parents.
  3. Two recent pictures passport size, glued to the Schengen application
  4. Driver License or State I.D. with current address.
  5. Permit to return to the United States in the form of a residence card or a student/work valid visa that is stamped on the passport and is valid for a period of 3-months beyond the expected lenght of stay. Applicants holding student visas must also submit I-20.  
  6. Proof of accommodations for duration of trip (confirmed hotel reservation with address and telephone number) or an official invitation letter from a Spanish nacional or foreign legal resident in Spain, issued by the Police Department in Spain.
  7. Proff of sufficient financial assets in the United States: bank statements, investments, lines of credit, showing sufficient means of support to cover regular expenses and trip to Schengen States.
  8. Signed original letter as a proof of employment indicating length of employment, position,vacation period, wage and salary.Attach to the letter the last 3 paystubs and W-2. The the most recent Income Tax Return could be required.
  9. If you are self-employed, also submit last Income Tax Return, bank statement and professional license(if applicable) and certificate of incorporation.
  10. Medical travel insurance with a minimum coverage limit of $50,000.00 and no deductible for the entire duration of your trip throughout Schengen territory for urgent medical expenses and/or repatriation due to accident or sudden illness (confirmation of coverage).
  11. Complete travel itinerary. We urge you  NOT to purchase travel tickets until your visa has been approved.
  12. Application for minors must be submited by parents or a legal guardian with proper documentation (Bith Certificate, I.D.of parents, notarized letter giving permission to travel, parents financial assets and signature of both parents on application). Final judgment of dissolution of marriage and the custody agreement.
  13. For a Business visa, letter from US company indicating purpose, lenght of stay and letter of invitation from the Spanish company or entity confirming commercial affiliation.
  14. Visa fee  NON-REFUNDABLE.   

Upon notification of the approval of your visa, you will have 10 days to provide a copy of your closed round-trip ticket before you pick up your passport. If you fail to do so, your application will be considered abandoned. We urge you NOT to purchase travel tickets until your visa has been approved.

Travel visa is a privilege, not a right and issued at the sole discretion of Schengen Authorities.
