Residence visa exempt from requesting a work permit

The Consulate General in Miami has jurisdiction over the following
States: Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. You must be a permanent resident in
our jurisdiction to apply at this Consulate General.
This visa allows the foreigner to reside in Spain and develop religious, cultural,
artistic or scientific activities which are exempted from permission to work in
Spain.
Applicants should contact the Visa Department at this Consulate General to find out if
this type of visa is applicable to their case.
To apply for this visa two Schengen application forms and the following requirements must be
submitted in person at this Consulate General:
ORIGINALS AND TWO PHOTOCOPIES OF EACH DOCUMENT:
- Passport with more than one year validity.
- Two recent passport size photos, glued to each application form.
- Original certificate of good conduct (police clearance) issued by the police department of the city or
cities where the applicant has spent 6 months or more in the last 5 years,
translated, notarized, and legalized with
the Apostille Certification at the corresponding Department of State. In

- Two Schengen visa application forms typewritten and signed by applicant.
- Driver´s license or State I.D. with your permanent legal residence in
the U.S.
- Original official medical certificate of good health which must also state an absence of
contagious disease, drug addiction and mental illness, duly stamped, issued and signed by a
registered doctor and translated into Spanish.
- Original official invitation or documents describing the activities to be performed,
mentioning also that the organization will assume financial responsibility for the
applicant, with a translation into Spanish.
- Documents which verify that the organization in Spain is accredited by the appropriate
governmental authorities in Spain. (Ministerio de Justicia, de
Educación, de la Presidencia).
- Proof of receiving a grant, if applicable. Proof of income and
means of support and living expenses in Spain.
- Original application of exemption from permission to work (solicitud de
residencia y excepción de
permiso de trabajo) original and five copies.
- U.S. residence card if the applicant is not a US citizen (or visa for the US).
- All documents presented cannot exceed 60 days from the day they were issued.
- Proof of health insurance in Spain.
- Proof of accomodation in Spain.
The resolution of the application for this type of visa may take up to 3
months. Be
advised that special conditions may apply for certain circumstances.

IF YOUR FAMILY IS TRAVELLING WITH YOU TO SPAIN THEY MUST APPLY FOR A NON
LUCRATIVE VISA. PLEASE FOLLOW THE INFORMATION UNDER THAT TYPE OF VISA.
FOR FAMILY MEMBERS: SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS (ORIGINALS AND TWO
PHOTOCOPIES):
- Passport with validity superior of one year.
- Residence card, if not a US citizen, and Driver License or State ID.
- Two Schegen visa application forms type-written and signed.
- Two pictures glued to the forms.
- Proof of sufficient financial support (bank accounts in Spain or USA,
investments and any other source of income).
- Proof of acomodation (to show an address in Spain).
- Proof of health insurance that will cover the family in Spain.
- Certificate of good conduct (Police Clearance Letter) for applicants
older than 18, translated into Spanish, notarized and legalized with the
Apostille Certification issued by the corresponding Department of State.
- Medical certificate of good mental and physical health, duly stamped and
signed by medical doctor, translated into Spanish.
- Marrige certificate legalized with the Apostille certification at
corresponding Department of State.
- Birth certificate legalized with the Apostille certification at
corresponding Department of State.
- Proof of employment of spouse/parent in Spain and copy of his/her
passport.
- Final judgment of dissolution of marriage and the custody agreement
concerning the children of divorced parents translated into Spanish and
legalized with the Apostille Certification issued by the corresponding
Department of State.
- VISA FEE: US CITIZENS $100.00 FOR OTHER
NATIONALITIES : $92.40 ( MONEY ORDER).
PREPARE TRHEE SETS: ONE WITH THE ORIGINALS AND TWO WITH PHOTOCOPIES OF ALL
THE DOCUMENTS.
